My name is Matt Huggins, and I build web and mobile apps. Although I have an extensive background covering a variety of languages and technologies, I consider myself a full-stack Ruby on Rails developer.

I’ve been coding for the past 18 years, and I’ve been developing with both Ruby and Rails for the past 4 years. I’ve had the chance to work with several startup companies, which have provided me with unique learning opportunities. I was brought hired by Challenge Games to integrate their games with Facebook Platform & Facebook Connect, which ultimately led to their acquisition by Zynga in 2010. Since then, I’ve built a free online dating site named Black Book Singles, and I’ve developed several open-source Rubygems as well:

  • a2z: a simple Ruby DSL for searching & retrieving items from the Amazon Product Advertising API.
  • ruby-measurement: parse measurements, perform calculations, and convert between units.
  • multiple_table_inheritance: implement multiple table inheritance within your database using ActiveRecord models.
